A campaign for the City of Edmonton promoting Clean Air Day and cleaner transportation. To do this through traditional means would be an injustice. We set out to create a medium that had a net gain to the environment. We grew and harvested living moss that was applied to reused bicycles and a bus bench, to match the theme of clean transportation, using donated Alberta Farmed Handspun flax twine. As they’re common symbols in day-to-day life, subverting them made the viewers experience all the more surprising and impactful. Placed in key locations around Edmonton, they were paired with a reused sandwich board communicating tips for cleaner transportation.
